This book is a basic guide to all that you need to know about your finances in your twenties and thirties. It is comprehensive and talks about all the things that you need to know in order to manage your money and understand how it works.

This book is a basic guide to all that you need to know about your finances in your twenties and thirties. It is comprehensive and talks about all the things that you need to know in order to manage your money and understand how it works.

The team of authors does a great job covering the basics. They show you how the financial worlds works, and then provide you with a list of questions that you should ask before you go into any financial decisions. These lists cover everything from what you should your bank, your apartment leasing office and your realtor. The book is also full quizzes that can help you test your current understanding and expand it. These questions are great at helping you catch common misconceptions that you may have about money.

The book is divided into five sections. The first “The Real World” looks at how all things financial work. The second section “On Your Own and Loving It” covers the basics on how to really begin to manage your money—yes this sections talks about budgeting. The third section “Coasting Along” talks about wealth building and spending. The fourth section “To Everything There Is a Season” focuses mainly on retirement planning. The fifth section “So You’re Thinking of Buying a Home” focuses on home buying.

The divisions in the book make it easy to use as a reference when you are concerned about a specific topic. It is important to read and review at least the first two sections of the book so that you can understand how your money works. Budgeting really is the key to financial success. The glossary is another great resource to understanding key financial terms.

This book would be a good reference to use when you are facing the big decisions in your financial life. It would also make a good gift to give a recent college graduate or even a college student. It provides good solid information and additional resources for those who need financial advice.
